Wim van den Heever
Wim has had an interest in both photography and nature for as long as he can remember. He comes from a family where photography is more a lifestyle than a hobby, and they never missed an opportunity to visit the Southern African Game Parks. So, from an early age, his interest in both photography and the natural world were stimulated and facilitated.
It was a natural progression to combine the two when life conspired to ensure that he was placed in a situation to enjoy Wildlife Photography as a profession and lifestyle rather than a hobby. Initially Wim did do a lot of commercial photography to supplement his income as a wildlife photographer but he very quickly realized that his true passion was with wildlife and nature photography and his efforts were concentrated in making this a reality.
Every photograph captures a moment in time which it preserves forever. Wildlife photography allows him to preserve those special moments and to share them.
Thousands of people are unable and some are unwilling to take time out in the bush. However, this does not mean that they are indifferent to what is happening daily on our planet. Wildlife photographs keep the bush and nature alive in their minds and reminds people not only about the beauty in nature but also the constant threats posed by man in various areas.
“Every photograph tells a unique story and I hope the stories contained on this website strikes a cord in each viewer. I hope you enjoy my images as much as I enjoyed producing them.”
